| Description | Advances in the design, fabrication and analysis of diffractive optical elements (DOEs) have made them a viable alternative to refractive elements for optical systems in interconnects, data storage and infrared imaging (Lee, 1993). Because of their unique properties, it is desirable in some instances to combine DOEs with refractive and reflective componertts in order to achieve special functions or desired levels of performance. From these applications a new field of optical design, hybrid optics, has emerged. Book Name: Micro-Optics |
