| Description | This research aimed to investigate the types, reasons, and dominant topics of code-switching in the chatroom of the WhatsApp group of Indonesian Participating Youth (IPYs) of the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) 37. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach. The participants of this study were 13 members of the SSEAYP 37 alumni WhatsApp group. The result of the study showed that the types of code-switching among the participants consists of 65 intra-sentential, 20 inter-sentential, and 3 tag switching. The internal factors that affected the group members to produce code-switching were natural occurrences, less formality, millennial identity, and a point of emphasis. The external factors were difficulty in communicating in Bahasa Indonesia or commonly used English, the same level of language proficiency among group members, and the difference in meaning. In addition, the most dominant topics in code-switching were related to technology, organizational terminology, and music.
