| Description | Associated with rapid economic growth and tremendous industrial prosperity, continues to be the accelerated increase of municipal solid waste generation in China. The urban solid waste not only obstructs the urban landscape and occupies a lot of land, but also pollutes the environment and is harmful to people's health. Thus, urban solid waste pollution has become a huge challenge facing Chinese environmental management. Technologies for solid waste treatment include incineration, landfilling, anaerobic digestion and incineration technology. However, there are problems existing in the disposal of solid waste such as imperfect laws and regulations, insufficient policy incentives and low participation enthusiasm among residents.
