Tourism is used as a tool for synergizing conservation of biodiversity and also community development. Festivals and events can support and promote tourist destination to brand and attract tourists. There is extensive literature and research done on tourists but very few of local residents and its sociocultural determinants along with environmental impacts pertaining to tourism activities. The current chapter is exploratory in nature, and the emphasis is laid on Product Support Specialist at TravelClick, Melbourne, Australia the residents of the Miao region and attempts to measure their perceptions toward sociocultural impacts of the Namdapha Ecocultural Festival. However, in order to profoundly analyze the complexities of attitudes formation in regards to the festival, it is endorsed to demeanor a longitudinal study (a repeated study of the same elements over a period of time). This chapter attempts to bring forth the impact of tourism on a destination and also the ways in which the local residents or the community plays a foremost role in achieving sustainable tourism development.
