| Description | According to the characteristics and variation of oxygen isotope compositions of altered rocks from different sites and depths, and through the inversion calculations, a two-step mechanism of water-rock interaction for the forming process of the Yinshan deposit is proposed by present study. During the first step the meteoric groundwater interacted with the phyllite wall rocks in depth where T ≽400°C and the efficient W/R ratio was very low (<0. 05), and evolved into a metal-bearing hydrothermal fluid. This fluid would flow upward through the fracture zone where second step water-rock interaction took place under much higher W/R ratio (up to 5. 0) and decreasing temperatures, finally causing the deposition of ore veins.
