Description	This chapter describes how Internet-facilitated sex offending is a new and rapidly changing type of offence, which has major implications for society, law enforcement, and treatment providers. Internet-related sexual offending is one of the most rapidly growing offence categories in Western Europe and North America. Online sexual offending is of considerable concern to policymakers, law enforcement, child protection agencies, and offender management services. Some individuals seeking and accessing child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) have already established paedophilic interests, and the Internet has simply made it easier for them to cross the threshold into accessing this material online.
