| Description | This book brings together a series of clinical papers and discussions that have been previously published in the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Psychotherapy. The JGLP's ongoing objective in publishing such papers is to provide a forum for addressing some of the new paradigm shifts in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, particularly as they relate to the treatment of gay, lesbian, and bisexual patients. This project takes place during a time of enormous change, both clinical and theoretical, particularly in the ways in which therapists are coming to think about gender and sexuality. Current revisions have grown out of old disputes about femaleness and maleness, femininity and masculinity, and heterosexuality and homosexuality (Young-Bruehl, 1996).
