| Description | Manufacturing industries are witnessing significant technological advances, geared towards enhancing their efficiency and productivity. Cyber physical systems (CPS) are playing a central role in creating a paradigm shift in the workings of the manufacturing plants. Deployment of CPS enables information from all related perspectives to be monitored and used, to achieve close collaboration, coordination, and synchronization between the factory plant systems and computational space [1]. This leads to the transformation of manufacturing industries into Industry 4.0. The centrepiece of this emerging paradigm is the control system, which incorporates not only the operational model of the factory plant systems, but also the relevant domain knowledge used to determine the plant system configuration and operational model. However, there are many challenges to face in order to realize this control system. Book Name: Smart Cyber Physical Systems |
