| Description | In this paper, a cognitive radio user/secondary user (CR/SU) based selection algorithm has been proposed that provides an opportunistic access to the available spectrum hole. The proposed system makes use of fuzzy logic to manage the CR users to access the free frequency on the basis of channel fading conditions, channel sensing information, and the distance between transmitter and receiver. The effect of aggregate interference is considered to determine the value of signal-to-interference-noise-ratio (SINR) at the primary user. In this paper, the maximum permissible transmission power for a CR user is determined using convex optimization. Based on which, the appropriate CR is given the opportunity to transmit over the available spectrum hole. Book Name: Communication and Computing Systems |
