| Description | The most important criteria used for detecting faults were described in Chapter 3 without going into the design of the protection devices themselves. This was deliberately omitted, because depending on the type of measuring system employed, i.e. analogue or digital, their operating principles are quite different and therefore have to be dealt with separately.
