| Description | Medical Image Processing is a dynamic research area in healthcare, because of its applications such as capturing scan images, diagnosing, and testing medical conditions. Medical imaging techniques are non-invasive techniques, which means looking inside the organs without opening the body. Over the last decade, Machine Learning became an important technique that is used in the classification of medical images. To solve one of the major issues of Machine Learning, Deep Learning has been used in the field of Medical Image Processing when more hidden layers are used to get more abstraction for the complex data. Today, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) are becoming futuristic learning models across different areas, such as image processing, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Human Activities Recognition, and so on. Nowadays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic imaging resonance (MRI), x-rays, endoscopy, mammography, ultrasound scanning, dermoscopy, and electrocardiogram are used to capture various types of images for disease diagnosis, early detection, and the treatment of health issues. Deep Learning contains one application to predict and analyze medical images. This chapter describes how Deep Learning techniques are used for diagnosing and predicting various diseases and cancer cells.
