| Description | Methane, fire and bounce dangers are the most serious hazards which occur in Polish coal mines and they decide on staff safety and continuity of mining plants operation. The high level of natural hazards as well as the development of high technology in mining caused the necessity for a new view on monitoring and control of ventilation process. The idea of ventilation monitoring system is based on continuous measurement of mine air parameters for monitoring of methane hazards and early detection of fires. These conditions are met by the SMP system which is implemented with a success to Polish coal mines. The SMP system supplies all underground devices and sensors from the surface, so it is possible to continue measurements independently of the state of underground electric power network.
