| Description | Nowadays, modified cement, geopolymers, and alkali-activation binders are introduced as alternative environmentally friendly construction materials to ordinary Portland cement (OPC) for solving carbon dioxide emission and high energy consumption problems. In the construction sectors worldwide, the sustainability of concrete is the major concern. Concrete produced by recycling the agricultural and industrial wastes were shown to be environmentally friendly with improved durability performance. In this view, this chapter examines the effects of ceramic wastes as replacement agents to OPC and/or natural aggregates on the sustainability performance of synthesized modified and alkali-activated concrete. The life cycle of the proposed concretes were assessed in terms of $CO_{2}$ emission, cost, and saving energy. It was concluded that by substituting OPC and natural aggregates with ceramic wastes as a potential solution to the issue of trying to reduce $CO_{2}$ emission and contribute to a healthier environment can be achieved.
