| Description | This study examined the effect of family ownership and characteristics of the board of directors on company performance. The companies in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2018. Based on previous studies, family ownership has a negative impact on company performance. This is likely due to interest differences between family ownership and company management, which causes agency conflicts. Hence, to reduce these negative effects, family-owned companies can place their family members in company management, such as the company's board of directors. Thus, all activities and corporate decision making can be controlled, and agency conflict can be avoided. Book Name: The Future Opportunities and Challenges of Business in Digital Era 4.0 |
