Forces of good (FOG) and forces of the enemy (FOE) operated in the jail where he was incarcerated for robbery. “Th e police hacked off my arms and legs; it’s a good thing I didn’t try to get away.” Visual hallucinations of personages were claimed, providing the basis for his antipsychotic medication and diagnosis of schizophrenia by the correctional facility medical staff . Several days later, the investigating probation offi cer revealed that the defendant’s mental problems had never been raised as an issue in his 100-plus burglaries and robberies over the last 8 years. Stardowsky’s parents pointed out that the accused had been playing the FOG and FOE story since the fourth grade, but only when he wanted to get out of trouble. |
