| Description | The paper presents the results of a research project which was aimed to develop a cement based pavement system for heavy loaded pavements using Strain-Hardening Cement-Based Composites (SHCC). Due to novelty of this material, laboratory tests under cyclic loading, large scale laboratory tests as well as field tests were undertaken. The optimization process on mix design was focused on the reduction of reactive binder components, i.e. cement and fly ash. Therefore, on one hand the long-term hardening was adapted, which leads to higher deformation capacity of aged SHCC. On the other hand, the costs and environmental impact were reduced. Based on the laboratory test results, two different mixes with promising mechanical properties could be identified. Book Name: Advances in Materials and Pavement Performance Prediction |
