| Description | System shovel-truck-in-pit crusher-conveyor is very a interesting solution to move rock won from open pit mine. It consists of two different types of machinery systems: cyclic and continuous ones. Therefore to calculate such a system – taking into account reliability indices and operation parameters of equipment involved – was a challenge for mining engineers specializing in machinery system calculation. Hitherto estimation of system of this type was based on engineering rules and experience giving approximate assessment of some basic operation parameters. Nowadays there is a possibility to calculate the system more accurately and comprehensively applying appropriate mathematical tools from reliability theory, queue theory and theory of exploitation of machines. It is worth to notice that properties of the system are inconstant during its exploitation not only because of failed machines that are withdrawn from operation, but also due to the fact that some trucks are taken out from the pit (dispatcher decision) due to failed shovels. The paper presents a procedure how to calculate the system, i.e. to estimate essential operation parameters. Consideration is supported by calculation of practical example.
