| Description | Thrissur district is a region with rich built heritage. This heritage is still preserved in its traditional settlements. But traditional settlements located within the urban areas of the district are struggling to fit into the new urban structure and to attract modern developments. This paper suggests planning strategies for developing these settlements into planned neighbourhood units.
