| Description | This study aims at exploring the banking business ecosystem in Timor-Leste by identifying actors, relationships, value creation between them, and developing a business ecosystem map. Currently, banking systems in Timor-Leste' consist of four foreign banks and one national bank. In addition, there are also other financial institutions like fintech and financial cooperatives, which conduct business such as money transfer, currency exchange, insurance, and agency deposit. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data analysis techniques followed the Miles and Huberman 's model of qualitative data analysis, and Conversion Strategy Value Analysis for the mapping the ecosystem. The findings revealed that there were good relationships between the parties involved in the banking ecosystem, although some parties did not perform their roles properly. It is recommended to the government to stipulate a digital law and a credit guarantee law in order to guarantee the business activities of banks. The government needs to cooperate with fiber optic companies in facilitating bank operations in serving customers digitally. Book Name: Contemporary Research on Business and Management |
