Description	After graduating with a degree in creative arts therapy, young therapists are faced with finding their first professional job and developing their professional skills. This chapter shares the experiences of five creative arts therapists (CATs)who share their experiences starting out. Nancy Sondag, who has hired many young CATs to work for recreation departments in long-term care, shares what she looks for in an employee. Lynn Chapman and Alexa Palmer share challenges they faced finding those first jobs. Kelli Rae Powell explains the importance for early-career CATs to find and utilize a good supervisor to guide them through their first years of practice.
