Description	The transition from the role of trainee clinical psychologist to that of a qualified clinical psychologist, while acting as the culmination of an individual's journey through his/her clinical training, is a time often filled with unknowns, uncertainty and unexpected discoveries. This period of time is key in shaping a psychologist's professional identity, through the situations he/she experiences, the challenges he/she faces and how he/she reflects on these experiences. This chapter will provide a reflective account of this transition within the context of a supervisory relationship. This change will be explored both from the perspective of a newly qualified clinical psychologist and that of his clinical supervisor, who offered supervision during the specialist final year placement during training, then continued this into their first qualified role.
