| Description | 44Gas absorption and stripping are important industry processes for gas mixture separation, impurities removal, and valuable chemical recovery. With the increasing negative effects imparted from the release of greenhouse gases, one of the most widely applied absorption techniques is related to carbon capture from coal-fired power plants. Among the available options, chemical and physical absorption have been well established and commonly used to separate and capture gases from the low-pressure flue gas streams of large scale power plants as well as in the oil, natural gas, and cement industries [1]. However, these techniques have also suffered from several inherent disadvantages that are associated with the requirement of a large footprint, high capital costs, and inefficiencies rooted in the various operational problems. These disadvantages have become some of the critical issues to be concerned with and addressed. Book Name: Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactors |
