| Description | This paper studies the deformation localization of rock by theory and experiments. The deformation fields on the rock surface are traced quantitatively by the white light digital speckle correlative method. The localization banding width of rock has been gotten from the experiments. This paper adopts the gradient plasticity theory, which a parameter of the material internal length is introduced into. The deformation localization banding width formula is obtained by the analytical method. The internal length parameter of the rock material has been obtained by comparison with the theoretical and experimental results.
