| Description | Production hydraulic fill is typically pumped at about 30 per cent by weight concentration; the optimum addition of HMS reject was found to be 30 per cent by weight of the dry solids at a slurry concentration of 70 per cent by weight. Increasing or decreasing-the proportion of HMS reject increased the required pumping power. The addition of fines in the form of ground copper reverbatory furnace slag was tried but this did not produce any significant effect. The work continued (49), with the object of quantifying the relevant mixing and placement parameters and of providing data necessary for planning and design.
