| Description | Passenger Car Equivalent (PCE) is a greatly important quantity used to determine traffic flow, and it is utilized to convert the number of vehicles per hour into Passenger Car Units (PCU) per hour. Indonesia has heterogeneous traffic characteristics with various types of vehicles and undisciplined driving behaviors reflected in high aggressiveness levels on the roads. Passenger car equivalent quantities must reflect existing traffic conditions. The PCE of the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) therefore must be updated since the 1997 IHCM was considered a product of traffic data processed in 1994. This study aimed to create a traffic simulation model to determine a motorcycle's PCE based on driving behaviors using VISSIM. The research location was along the Majapahit signalized intersections, Semarang, Central Java. The research variables consisted of the number of vehicles per hour, geometric intersection, time cycle, and driving behaviors. The outcome indicator was queue length. Several standardized values of driving behavior were examined based on field conditions, such as calibration, including average standstill distance = 0.5 m; additional safety distance = 0.8 m; multiplied safety distance = 1 m; minimum headway = 0.5 m; and safety distance reduction factor = 0.6. The result of the motorcycle's PCE output was 0.15. Book Name: Engineering, Information and Agricultural Technology in the Global Digital Revolution |
