Description	This chapter focuses on archival research and in-depth interviews with former students of Baron School of Music (BSM), hoping to shed light on a unique case and context of popular music education in Hong Kong. V. Young indicates that modes of informal music learning from outside the traditional structures of school and the formal curriculum have gained recognition in formal United Kingdom (UK) education. Approaches such as Musical Futures in the UK, Australia, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Brazil and elsewhere, and Little Kids Rock's Modern Band in the US, are successfully bringing popular music and informal learning into mainstream schools. Continuing education fund supports the development of popular music skills under the banner of Creative Industry. BSM is a private music school in Hong Kong focusing on popular music education and the only school providing organized vocational and continuous education for newcomers to and current professionals in the local popular music industry.
