| Description | Recently, demand for state-of-the-art thermoplastic and thermosetting hybrid-composites has been growing day by day to meet the requirements relating to applications of various mechanically-reinforced, lightweight, cost-friendly, eco-benign, and durable materials. In many cases, the functionalization of fillers, nature of particle-matrix interfacial adhesion, and distribution of discrete particulate phases in the continuous polymer matrix have played the dominant roles in deciding significantly elevated mechanical properties of hybrid polymer composites compared to individual constituents. In this chapter, fabrications, performances, and mechanical properties of recently developed hybrid thermoplastic and thermosetting polymer composites have been discussed, emphasizing structure-property-performance relationships, strategies, challenges, and future prospects.
