Description	The efficient synthesis of the C1-C10 fragment of (-)-dictyostatin has been achieved by Evans-Tischenko reduction of a β-hydroxy ketone, followed by cross metathesis and Z-olefination. The β-hydroxy ketone is easily synthesized diastereoselectively by allylation and dihydroxylation of an alcohol. DRL Publication No. 622.
