Description	The 5-(2-nitroethenyl)-6-[(triphenylphosphoranylidene)amino]-pyrimidine derivative 3, prepared from 1,3-dimethyl-2,4-dioxo-6-[(triphenylphosphoranylidene)amino] -1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine (1) and 1-dimethylamino-2-nitroethylene (2), reacts with aryl isocyanates 4 to give 7-arylamino-1, 3-dimethyl-2,4-dioxo-6-nitro-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines 6 in good yield.

Iminophosphorane-Mediated Synthesis of Pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine Derivatives
