Abstract	The ammonium sesquicarbonate monohydrate (NH₄)₄[H₂(CO₃)₃] · H₂O is obtained from the reaction of hexamethyldisilazane with carbon dioxide in tetrahydrofuran in the presence of water. The structure of (NH₄)₄[H₂(CO₃)₃] · H₂O has been determined by X-ray crystal structure analysis.
