Abstract	The reaction of thiourea with C₃O₂ yields a pyrimidothiazine derivative as a 1:2 adduct. An isomeric pyronopyrimidine is obtained by the action of C₃O₂ on thiobarbituric acid. The structure of the reaction products of thioamides and C₃O₂ has been reinvestigated.
