Description	Botulinum toxin injection is an effective treatment for spasmodic dysphonia. There are ethical difficulties in performing a controlled placebo trial to assess the effectiveness of this treatment. This paper shows a significantly decreased clinical response following technically poor injections given to patients who respond well to good quality injections.
