| Description | In the last decade, a number of researchers have used information-theoretic ideas and maximization of mutual information in the design of radar waveforms for adaptive waveform radar and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. However, it is not clear under what circumstances these approaches lead to optimal or near-optimal results. In this chapter, we review the fundamental ideas behind the use of information theory and information measures in radar waveform design. We also briefly review some of the more recent results in this area. |
