| Abstract | Scientific research is the prerequisite for development for the science education as for all disciplines. Moreover, quantity and quality information about researches carried out in any disciplines includes explanatory information about the position of that field. The aim of this study is to analyse master’s theses completed between years of 2001-2011 at Celal Bayar University, Demirci Faculty of Education, department of science education in terms of various variables. Total 34 theses fit for the purpose were designated by scanning at the library of Council of Higher education. The method of content analysis was employed in this study. 34 Theses within the scope of research were analyzed in terms of “years, number of pages, titles of advisors, sexes of thesis owners, types of research (quantitative- qualitative-integrated), models of research (test-scanning), numbers of sampling, levels of sampling, data collection tools, analysis of data (descriptive statistics, t-test, variance analysis or correlations) and types of sources (national-international). Research findings showed that the percentage of females completing theses was close to that of males, thesis advisors being assistant professors and theses being mostly quantitative. |
