| Abstract | América Latina ha dejado atrás las elevadas tasas de crecimiento económico de la década pasada para converger a tasas más moderadas, en el rango del 1.5% al 3%. Sin duda, el haber sorteado el deterioro de las condiciones externas sin episodios de crisis es una buena noticia. No obstante, la continua revisión de las proyecciones de crecimiento de mediano plazo a la baja podría ser síntoma de un crecimiento del producto potencial menos robusto de lo previsto, que podría poner en riesgo los avances sociales recientes. Este capítulo presenta una evaluación sobre las perspectivas de crecimiento de América Latina en un entorno internacional más desafiante y explora cuán vulnerable es la región frente a un mayor deterioro del entorno internacional en el corto plazo. Se analiza el impacto histórico de las bonanzas de recursos (derivados de materias primas y de flujos de capitales) sobre el desempeño económico cíclico y tendencial. Por último, se presentan algunas reflexiones sobre política económica tanto en el corto, como especialmente en el largo plazo. La región necesita realizar avances ambiciosos tanto para incrementar la productividad como para continuar con la reducción de la desigualdad y la pobreza. En este sentido, se destaca el objetivo de mejorar las capacidades de los trabajadores actuales y futuros, tanto a través del sistema educativo tradicional como a través de la educación y formación técnico profesional, tema que enlaza con el resto del informe. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
