NDLI: Le milieu social d'origine a-t-il une influence sur la performance des élèves ?

Abstract	Les différences de performance liées au milieu d’origine des élèves sont manifestes dans tous les pays. Ces derniers sont donc confrontés au défi de répartir équitablement les possibilités d’apprentissage entre les élèves. Les résultats de l’enquête PISA montrent toutefois que certains pays réussissent mieux que d’autres à atténuer l’impact du milieu socio-économique des élèves sur leur performance en compréhension de l’écrit. En dépit de la forte corrélation entre la performance en compréhension de l’écrit et le milieu socio-économique, de nombreux élèves issus d’un milieu défavorisé détrompent les prévisions et se distinguent par de bons résultats. Les enseignants ne doivent donc pas partir du principe qu’un élève de condition modeste est incapable d’être très performant.
