Abstract	La stratégie nationale d’adaptation de la France, adoptée en 2006, a marqué l’importance désormais accordée à l’adaptation par les autorités publiques. Cette stratégie poursuit quatre grandes finalités à prendre en compte dans les processus nationaux de planification : i) protéger les personnes et les biens en agissant pour la sécurité et la santé publique ; ii) tenir compte des aspects sociaux et éviter les inégalités devant les risques ; iii) limiter les coûts liés aux effets du changement climatique et tirer parti des avantages ; et iv) préserver le patrimoine naturel.
