Abstract	Weltweit sind die Bediensteten des Innen- und Außendienstes von Steuerverwaltungen gut ausgebildete und hochqualifizierte Fachkräfte, die im Rahmen ihrer Tätigkeit routinemäßig die Finanzlage, die Transaktionen und die Rechnungslegung von Millionen Einzelpersonen, Unternehmen und anderen Steuerpflichtigen prüfen. Sie sind sich jedoch unter Umständen nicht bewusst, worin die typischen Anzeichen möglicher Bestechungs- oder Korruptionsfälle bestehen und welche Rolle ihnen im Hinblick auf Verdachtsmeldungen an die zuständige Strafverfolgungsbehörde oder Staatsanwaltschaft zukommt, wenn sie potenzielle Bestechungsoder Korruptionsfälle entdecken.
