| Abstract | Bildungsergebnisse stehen mit Arbeitsmarktergebnissen und einigen Aspekten der sozialen Integration im Zusammenhang. Das Bildungsniveau der Zuwanderer kann nicht als Resultat des Integrationsprozesses gewertet werden, da die meisten Zuwanderer ihre Bildung im Ausland erworben haben. Indessen ist die Bildung der im Inland geborenen Zuwandererkinder, die im Aufenthaltsland aufgewachsen sind und dort ausgebildet wurden, ein wesentliches Integrationsziel und gilt angesichts der umfassenden Implikationen der Bildung in der Tat als Vergleichsmaßstab für die Integration im weiteren Sinne. Persönliche kognitive Fähigkeiten, das häusliche Umfeld sowie der sozioökonomische Hintergrund (insbesondere das Bildungsniveau der Eltern) sind einige der wichtigsten Bestimmungsfaktoren für die Bildungsergebnisse des Einzelnen. Die zu Hause gesprochene Sprache ist ebenfalls ein Schlüsselfaktor, der die Sprachkenntnisse der Zuwanderer beeinfl usst. Ferner besteht generell zwischen anderen Nachteilen, wie dem Besuch einer Schule mit einem hohen Anteil an Kindern aus in wirtschaftlicher Hinsicht benachteiligten Familien, und schlechten Bildungsergebnissen eine Korrelation. Demgegenüber kann die Teilnahme an frühkindlicher Betreuung, Bildung und Erziehung vor allem für Kinder aus Zuwanderer- und Niedrigeinkommensfamilien ein Motivationsfaktor sein, der sich positiv auf die späteren schulischen Leistungen auswirkt. In diesem Kapitel werden der Vorschulbesuch (Indikator 5.1), die Lesekompetenz 15-Jähriger (Indikator 5.2) und die Informationen zum erreichten höchsten Bildungsniveau (Indikator 5.3) untersucht. National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
