| Abstract | Le présent chapitre fait le point sur la lutte qui se mène aujourd’hui contre le changement climatique. Il veut montrer comment les émissions de CO2 des transports sont susceptibles d’évoluer, dans l’hypothèse où il n’y aurait pas de variation prononcée des prix actuels de l’énergie, et traite de la situation des transports routiers, du transport maritime et de l’aviation eu égard aux émissions de CO2. Les transports exercent sur l’environnement et la santé des effets néfastes dont les plus importants sont la pollution locale et régionale de l’air, le changement climatique et le bruit. Le chapitre passe en revue, sans prétendre à l’exhaustivité, les mesures qui ont été ou pourraient être prises pour remédier à ces effets. Il met l’accent sur les transports internationaux qu’il définit comme étant des transports nés pour l’essentiel de la mondialisation des activités économiques plutôt que des transports simplement transfrontaliers au sens étroit du terme. Il s’attarde sur les transports de surface ainsi que sur les transports aériens et maritimes en mettant l’accent sur le changement climatique, les autres effets néfastes (dont le bruit des avions et la pollution locale et régionale causée par les navires) n’étant abordés que plus succinctement. Les mesures de réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre des transports sont évaluées dans le cadre d’un débat plus large sur les moyens de résoudre le problème des bénéficiaires indus. Une place assez importante est accordée à la réduction des émissions de CO2 dans le transport routier, tandis que seuls quelques points concernant les transports maritimes et aériens sont mentionnés. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
