Abstract	Les lignes directrices pour les essais de produits chimiques comprennent une centaine de méthodes agréées au niveau international et essentielles pour les laboratoires publics, industriels et privés afin d’identifier et de spécifier les risques potentiels de nouvelles substances et de préparations chimiques. Elles sont la base d’un ensemble d’outils principalement utilisés dans les tests de sécurité règlementaire, les substances de produits chimiques étant ensuite notifiées et enregistrées.Elles sont également utilisées pour sélectionner et classifier les nouveaux produits chimiques pendant leur élaboration ainsi que dans la recherche en toxicologie. Elles couvrent les essais des propriétés physico-chimiques pour les produits chimiques dans les domaines de la santé, et de l’environnement. Développées depuis 1981, les lignes directrices sont reconnues comme étant l’outil de référence pour les professionnels travaillant sur les essais de produits chimiques et l’évaluation de leurs risques potentiels.
