| Abstract | This paper examines the nature of the so-called Japanese reflexive zibun 'self' that occurs in an argument position of a predicate. We argue that the binding behavior of zibun is dependent on the intrinsic properties of reflexivity associated with predicates. We also propose a new way of reflexive-marking of a predicate in Japanese. |
