| Abstract | The present investigation was carried out in Horticultural Research Farm, I.G.A.U., Raipur during winter season of 1999-2000. The treatments comprised of an application of inorganic fertilizers, organic manures or combination of both to assess their effect on growth and yield of pea. The inorganic fertilizers were tested by 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% of the recommended dose in combination with organic manures (FYM or slurry). Experimental material also consist of application of only organic manuring either with the use of FYM or cattledung slurry. The results showed that combined application of organic manures with inorganic fertilizers were found more effective as compared to the application of chemical fertilizers or organic manures alone for influencing growth and yield of pea. As regards yield, an application of 50% of the recommended dose of chemical fertilizers + twice liquid manuring recorded relatively higher green pod yield, although most of the treatments were found at par with each other for this trait. The treatments in which F.Y.M. was applied proved significantly better to hasten flowering, whereas, chemical fertilizers on slurry application delayed the flowering. |
