| Abstract | A novel wideband planar single layer mono-pulse comparator for the application of mono-pulse angle of arrival and target detecting is presented. This low cost comparator consists of three new broadband differential phase shifters and four 3 dB hybrid commercial couplers to generate sum and delta (difference) output channel frequency response. The operating frequency ranges in S band over one octave from 2 to 4 GHz. The comparator circuit is designed and fabricated on single layer RO4003C microstrip board with the simple and low cost PCB process. The amplitude imbalance and phase shift ripple between the four input channels and two sum and delta output channels are <1 dB and 2.5°, respectively. By integrating a four-arm spiral antenna and the proposed comparator, a mono-pulse antenna is designed and fabricated. In the frequency range from 2 to 4 GHz, the sidelobe level is ≤17 dB, the sum gain is measured as >3 dBic, and the null depth is better than 25 dB. The obtained sum and difference radiation characteristics make the proposed mono-pulse antenna promising for target detecting and tracking in the two dimension applications. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
