Abstract	To build ever more efficient aircraft, the part of the aircraft electrical system which supplies non-flight relevant systems is being investigated for weight-optimization with power management (PM). Realizing power management requires thorough consideration of boundary conditions and studies on potential interactions scenarios. It was found that so far, a reactive power management function is best suited for the given purpose. It can be realized in a centralized or decentralized shape with identical PM algorithms if precise data synchronization is given. Interaction control with higher load management functions can be restrictive and simple as the probability for interactions to occur is low. Protective devices involved in power management are to be adapted or inrush current limits reduced to permit smooth PM integration into today's electrical system.
