| Abstract | The paper develops an analytical harmonic model of three-phase inverters operating with decoupled hysteresis current control. The harmonic spectrum of the inverter line current is expressed in terms of the system and controller parameters, such as ac inductance, modulation index, and relay bandwidth. Two commonly used current control modes are considered: the fixed error band and the variable error band mode. The model also includes the computation of the dc current harmonic ripple resulting from the hysteresis switching action. The proposed models provide a quick and, as shown by the simulation results in the paper, reliable means of predicting the harmonic output of this class of inverters. In addition, the variable-band hysteresis inverter is examined under distorted dc and ac system voltages in order to promote the understanding of the harmonic transfer across the inverter dc and ac sides. $MATLAB/Simulink^{©}$ studies presented in the paper verify the validity and accuracy of the proposed method. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
