NDLI: A Framework for Collaborative Learning System Based on Knowledge Management

Abstract	currently, with rapid development of the Internet, more and more people are interested in collaborative learning via web. There are some commercialized systems of collaborative learning now. But they only provide some simple and easy tools for instructors and learners to organize learning. These systems don’t mainly consider knowledge management during collaborative learning processes. Collaborative learning system could not only support the learning, but also achieve a seamless knowledge flow among the collaborative team members. So this paper presents a framework for collaborative learning system that integrated knowledge management technology. It can more effectively support collaborative learning processes via Internet or Intranet. This paper performs the following tasks: (1) introduction knowledge management technology and CSCL(Computer Supported Collaborative Learning); (2) presentation of a framework for collaborative learning system based on knowledge management (CLS-KM ); (3) discussion of knowledge sharing collaborative modes between members; (4) implementation of a simple prototype system; (5) conclusion and expectation of the further work.
