NDLI: Radial Carbon Penetration in the Surface Layer of Molten Copper Wire

Abstract	It has an important significance that studies the law of ambient substance in fire accident scene penetrating into molten marks of wires, which can apply for electrical fire accident investigation to discriminate the types of molten marks of metal. The radial carbon penetrating law in the surface layer (depth of 0.1 mm) of molten marks is studied in this paper. The penetrating process is mainly affected by Marangoni-Bénard convection. The results show that the best sampling location is near the transition zone of the molten marks, in which the radial molar content distribution curve of carbon has the following characteristics: The primary short circuit molten mark's molar content has a local maximum and two local minimum value, the secondly short circuit molten mark's has a local maximum and minimum value, the overload molten mark's has a local minimum value.
