| Abstract | Collision/Contact sports persons, particularly football and hockey players are involved in very high impact collisions during play. The player may be subjected to Concussion a medical term related to the disturbance in the brain function following a blow to head or a violent impact. This Concussion may result in to Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI). Often it is difficult to assess the severity of the blow to athletes who suffer head impacts during a practice or game situation and physicians, trainers, and coaches utilize standard neurological examinations and cognitive questioning to determine the relative severity of the impact and its effect on the athlete. The statement of problem is to generate medians of amplitude of the collision signal and build an output waveform reflecting the exact nature of variation of this impact, to be made available to medical team. If a medical data bank is available to relate the above data of impact with type of MTBI, the diagnosis will be more effective and less time consuming. This paper presents the details of the work related to the "Simulation and Real Time Processing Of Athletes Collision Data Using Accelerometer and Matlab" in the virtual sports field to address the above statement of problem. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
