| Abstract | In power system analysis the main supply at a point of common coupling (PCC) is often presented by its TheĢvenin or Norton equivalent. In most cases these models adequately define the electrical characteristics of a PCC and are commonly used for power flow evaluations, fault estimations, as well as stability and power quality assessments. To determine the equivalent impedance of a PCC through analytical calculation or simulation precisely may be challenging due to the complexity and time varying nature of power supply systems. Especially in medium- and low-voltage distribution networks with a high share of fluctuating consumers and generators a measurement may be required to exactly capture the equivalent impedance over time. This contribution presents a method, which can be used to identify varying equivalent parameters of an AC power system with high accuracy and time resolution. To identify the network impedance the system is excited with short sequences of current signals while measuring the corresponding voltage and current characteristics. The method is evaluated in a simulation model. Further on, impedance measurements on the low-voltage level are presented and discussed. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
